About Ishta Yoga

Our Approach

We firmly believe Yoga is for everyone. whether you seek health, fitness, therapy or the path of spirituality. It is wholistic and very much a personal journey.

We follow the ancient Kriya Yoga lineage. Over the years we have developed our own unique style. It is based on Hatha, and Vinyasa Yoga form, in which we creatively combine the elements of Bandhas, Kriyas, Pranayama and Meditation which is the need for today.

While designing the yoga sessions and workshops, we ensure that the sessions are delivered keeping in mind what is needed in the present time for an individual rather than what an individual may demand to learn.

Our goal is to inspire students to live YOGA on and off the mat, and to make Yoga as a way of life. Nothing gives us more joy than accompanying people on their journey.

About Me !

I was born on the land where Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment, but I realized how beautiful the journey of life is only after I turned thirty

In 2009, my work got me to Bangalore city; India. Soon corporate life took over me and it was hardly a few months that I realized I was very happy and thus gained too many Kilos which was clearly visible to all my near and dear ones 🙂 Like every other human, I tried everything from dancing, to go to gym, to aerobics to Yoga. Nothing much worked to my satisfaction.

Few years later I married the love of my life. Corporate career was roaring, with promotions, salary increases and so on.. At a personal level life was going amazing and beautiful. I delivered a lovely daughter. Everyone loved me and Life was great!

However, with all these accomplishments there was a part in me who wasn't content and I wondered why?

The mundane life of getting up, cooking, going to the office, taking care of little one and family and partying over the weekend became my Life.

My body weight was a growing concern for me, to add to this I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and gestational diabetes. I was on meds to keep it in check.

This is when I took up Yoga seriously. Not on-and-off classes, but a rather disciplined approach. And I fell in love with it. Touch wood till date I am off all meds. My husband did his fair share to handle the regular chores of the house, so I am ever-grateful to him!

I had always had an inclination towards it, but this is when I found true joy. What gave me even more happiness was letting other people realize the bliss of Yoga. That’s when I came across the Teacher’s Training Program and from then there is no looking back till now.

I am very grateful to my teachers as with their support and guidance I am able to do my part. I feel content now and have learnt to look for answers within.
